FALL DENIM +A-LINE SKIRT
Oct 31st, 2016
Happy Monday to everyone!! I know Monday is usually not the happiest day of the week for most people. Hopefully this post gives you a quick break from your busy Monday schedule. : )
Today, I am introducing another trench coat look. Yes, I am definitely in the mood for trench coat these days so I named this post “In the trench coat”. 🙂 In my last post, I shared a look with a burberry trench coat paired with a dress. This time, I paired a traditional gray trench coat with a casual shirt and wool capri pants.
I am a big fan of trench coats, partly because they are very giving for various body types. A trench coat is a necessary component of your wardrobe for Fall and extends its usage further for rainy winter weather locations like the west coast in the US.
The one pictured in today’s post was purchased almost 4 years and has been absolutely my all time favorite. I especially like the contrast between black double breast buttons and the mustard color. Wearing it open with the belt loosely tied in the back, or completely buttoned up can be flattering and cool-looking. Plus, trench coat durability makes the investment worthwhile since they can last many years.
A trench coat is a key wardrobe piece that enhances your sophistication and elegance. Now you have a big opportunity to complete a fall look that can also be used for winter in not-so-cold Portland. Join us at Portland Moule Sat Nov 5th 2016 for a Trench Coat fashion evening!
I am going to share my thoughts on versatile looks with trench coats.

Can’t wait to meet all of YOU for fashion fun event!!!
Love you all!
If you can choose only one thing for the entire summer to wear, what would be that one thing for you?
This pretty black and white floral trouser jumpsuit takes comfort to a whole new level! If I could spend the entire of summer wearing just the one thing, this would be “THE THING”. In addition to great fabric choice, comfort and great fit, I love that this jumpsuit is hard to wrinkle. I can sit, slouch or even twist myself into a pretzel without being afraid of those pesky little wrinkles.
This is not me of course. : ) Her name is Carina and she is part of my blog team. Recently she and my photographer took a trip to Peru together. I dream to go one day after seeing all the breath-taking pictures!
Any of you noticed those words in the banner of my website : Reuse, Revive, Reconstruct, Rearrange, Recycle? I don’t think I have ever explained why they were chosen or matters to my styling blog.
Those are the words chosen to reflect my overall styling philosophy:
Portland weather has been having some dramatic changes over the last couple of weeks. It was over 90 the wk before and this wk is down to 50-60’s. I had to take out couple pieces of clothes I had put away including this grey jacket. (more…)
I visited Portland Art Museum about a wk ago. I wore my new prescription glasses in order to see arts well. I often feel like a sponge (ready to observe and get educated) when I either go to museums or universities. For that reason, I tend to dress more casual, more of a “Studious type” but not boring look when I go to those places.
Pink is usually not my cup of tea. When I saw this pink vest at “Frances May” local store , I fell in love as soon as I tried it on! The style of this vest matches with my style. Even pink isn’t really my thing but I decided to give it try. Besides, wearing pink in spring time is like having a date with your favorite person! I would have worn a sleeveless white shirt underneath but I went with longer sleeve because it was a bit chilly. (more…)
Last post I talked about the reason why I have passion for styling. Today I want to share a little bit about my styling philosophy.
But before that, we have to look at two concepts first: fashion & style.
As you can see from the definition, fashion will fade when certain way of dressing is no longer popular. However, style is something you build overtime and people tend to stick with it. That is not saying someone’s style never changes. This is exactly the reason I don’t call my blog Fashion blog but instead Styling blog. : )
