NYC ANGELMAN SYNDROME COLLECTIONS SHOW
May 29th, 2018
One very important trait we possess in our society is hierarchy. Hierarchy creates competition which in turn drives creativity. This is why I, as a fashion blogger, try to attend as many emerging designer fashion shows and competitions as I can. I want to support our youth and future generations in order to keep our fashion industry lush, alive, competitive, and ever evolving. When I got my invitation to come to the Angelman Syndrome Collections Presentation NYC, I was thrilled to once again be a part of the cultivation of our world’s young and genius emerging designers. POLKA DOTS | MAKING A COMEBACK
May 8th, 2018
When I was 16 years old, Polka dots were everything! My mom would wear polka dots every other day and my dad wore polka doted ties to every major occasion. I was sick of them! I never wanted to see them ever again. Even when my aunt bought me a very expensive polka dot dress for my birthday, I told her to return it and get me something else. It wasn’t until I turned 25, when polka dolts came back in style, and I finally realized the elegance of the pattern. (more…)
AHMED SHIHAB ELDIN – EMMY-NOMINATED JOURNALIST
May 2nd, 2018
Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re gonna get. Meeting Ahmed Shihab Eldin in DC was just that – an insightful, unique, and fun surprise. My business partner Bassel happened to find out that Ahmed was also in DC while we were there for a Tango event. We decided to reach out to him with no hope of getting a reply. Against all odds, time and travel constrains, and exchanging of wrong numbers, we managed to still meet with Ahmed and had a good time doing so. It was fate. (more…)

LONDON FASHION WEEK | FASHION FOR CONSERVATION
Mar 15th, 2018
Those of you who have read my previous post, know that I attended London Fashion Week a couple of weeks ago. London is my favorite city in Europe because of its food, fashion scene, and breathtaking architecture — not to mention I was there for Fashion Week, which adds another level of euphoria. I felt that all the cells of my body were awakened the moment I landed and couldn’t wait to get a glimpse and this season’s upcoming fashion trends.
Fashion for Conservation (FFC) was the first show I went to. It was founded by three women determined to make a positive impact on the world through conservation-inspired couture. They combined their talents and passions to create fashion campaigns that educate consumers on animals and ecosystems, while donating funds to wildlife groups — all while doing it in fashion (pun intended).
LONDON FASHION WEEK ’18 – DAY 1 OOTD
Mar 6th, 2018
Being able to go to London Fashion Week (LFW) has been a dream of mine. It is one of the goals I set when I first started Style Right. I have never thought I could achieve this goal at this early of a stage in my blogging career. However, I always believed that hard work and perseverance, no matter the obstacles, would always pay off – and it did for me.
FEB 27th, 2018
Hello everybody! I am back from my quick trip to London for the 2018 London Fashion Week. I finally caught up on my sleep and am excited to share pictures and stories of my experience. Stay tuned for upcoming posts! In the meantime, I have a late winter Portland snow event series for today.
Since this winter had been milder than normal in Portland, I was thinking “will it not snow this winter entirely?” And then it snowed. I guess my call to the universe was heard. : )
WATCH OUT FOR THIS WATCH!
FEB 14th, 2018
Today I received my JORD watch, and opening it felt like Christmas! I haven’t been this excited to open a package in a while, and when I saw the packaging, it was love at first sight! So I got right into planning an outfit for it in order to post about it today for you – my beautiful styleright’ers.
With the stunning wooden textures, brown and rose golden colors, and handcrafted feel of the watch, darks were the way to go. And after swifting through my mess of a closet, one piece stood out to me – my brand new Free People Jumpsuit I got two weeks ago. (more…)

MAKE A FASHION STATEMENT IN AN AFFORDABLE DRESS
Jan 29th, 2018
The retail fashion industry transition to internet makes more complex personal purchases like special occasion dresses easier every year. Finding the right outfit for a special occasion is less of a hassle. With established online retailers of designer dresses you can find many more affordable prices for good quality.
Quality and Affordability
For example a purchase 2018 cheap prom dresses keyword search lands more precisely on sites with different dresses from known designers, often lower than retail. Online retailers lower overhead, rather than a store in a trendy part of town, pass cost savings to the consumer.
WOOL SWEATER + JADE NECKLACE
Jan 18th, 2018
Aside from fashion, my other passion over the last 10 years has been dancing Argentine tango. The look you are seeing in today’s post was shot when I attended San the Francisco Tango Marathon last November. (I know, it sounds so long ago already!)
Usually during a tango festival or marathon I dance day and night, meet friends for meals, get a bit of sleep, and don’t get to do much of anything else. But this time, I was very happy I took a half-day break from dancing, and went to Bernal Heights park for a photo shoot.

First post of 2018! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Mine was pretty good. We took 10 days to travel around California for some sunshine, as you can imagine what an Oregonian needs in winter time. The trip would be even better if the whole family wasn’t sick or getting over a sickness, but we had a great time nonetheless. We checked out Palm Springs, then took the kids to Disneyland and the San Diego Sea World & Zoo for the very first time. Our favorite activities were watching sea lion shows and checking out the zoo.
ALEX KREBS – RENOWN RENAISSANCE TANGUERO
Dec 13th, 2017
The first time I met Alex Krebs was about 10 years ago. I was searching for an Argentine Tango dance teacher. A Google search quickly turned up Alex and his all-tango dance studio in SE Portland, Tango Berretin, a funky, bohemian space complete with dance shoes glued on the ceiling, a mate gourd collection, and tango artwork. I took lessons, was hooked, and joined and stayed in the community ever since.
Alex is hard to define. He not only does many things, but also does them very successfully. He is a musician and physicist by education, and an Argentine tango teacher by profession. He directs two accomplished bands — a 14-piece Balkan Brass Band, The Krebsic Orkestar, and a tango sextet. He has been featured in the New York Times, OPB, Oregonian and other major media outlets for his craft and also his community building achievements. He has performed with the Oregon Symphony, released 6 tango albums, and has tango instructional apps. Students of his have even gone on to become notable Tango teachers, DJs, and organizers. So who is he?
