My love for jumpsuits continues from last year. I have always hoped ONE DAY someone will design a jumpsuit that prevents getting half naked for bathroom breaks. My dream is now reality. I will reveal the secret later! (Yes, keeping you hanging. : ))
Hello all, hope your summer is going well! Today, I have something new and exciting to share — STYLE RIGHT’s first promotional video!
I am THRILLED to share this collaborative project with Zeree Studio. My intention is to showcase my taste in fashion, beliefs regarding style, and some snippets of my life as a blogger in a two and a half minute video.
Your suggestions and feedback have been helping me get better and better, and I am very grateful for all of the support! As many of you know, I write the blog not for generating revenue, but to inspire people in discovering (and/or updating) their sense of style. Please help by sharing the blog to create more awareness.
Go to the right hand column of the website and enter your email address to follow my blog. You will get a confirmation email. Once you confirm, you are all set!
I also want to take this opportunity to introduce Zeree Bao, the videographer of this video. Before I met Zeree, I had seen one of his video work. I was very impressed by his way of filming and the overall feel of the video. After we met, we quickly settled our partnership. 2 months later, this Video came out and I am very happy with the result!!!
Zeree said “Beauty is a moment, for eternity, Inspiration is a moment for infinity. The film is a period that seize the moment. I’m the man, who find inspiration in the process of creation. Record every breakthrough with a lens together with my creative mind. Be bold and be creative! ” I think you should check out his youtube chanel here. : )

Hope you all had a great week! Ever since we had our 10-year anniversary celebration at PONZI Winery, I have wanted to revisit it. I love the scenery, modern architecture and peaceful setting. The view is breathtaking!
So why not combine work and fun into one trip?
As I was working on a title for this post, a friend said: “This look of yours reminded me of the TV show ‘Mad Men’, in which the story was taking place in the 1960s. Your look is a modern take on that”. Mad Men is one of the few TV shows I watched and really liked. I understood what he meant right away and happily decided on the post title.
A lot happened lately with STYLE RIGHT. I am now officially on Bloglovin. You can search for “Style Right” to find me, or click here. In case you don’t know what Bloglovin is, it is for you to follow all your favorite blogs in one place.
Hello everyone! I hope you had a fun weekend, especially those of you celebrating Father’s Day. I am finally over my jetlag from my recent trip to China and am excited to share some posts about summer looks with you (just in time for the hot days ahead)!
Those of you who have been following me would know I had created a look with this ACNE STUDIOPINK VEST in a previous post:
Today, on my trip to the Pearl district to meet up with a friend, I modified the look a bit by changing to jean shorts paired with a over-the-knee boots. This is an example of my fashion/styling philosophy: being able to reuse a single piece of clothing to create multiple looks is one of the keys to being fashionable! (more…)
Greetings from China and happy weekend everyone! I hope you have been able to enjoy the late spring sun as I have lately.
Portland has a lot of bridges. The only bridge I have never been on is Tilikum crossing, a bridge designed for bicyclist and pedestrian to cross the river. Bassel, my photographer, and I decided to check it out on this beautiful slightly cloudy day.
Hello everyone! Happy weekend and I hope you have something special planned for the long memorial weekend. I am writing this post on the plane on my way to China Shanghai. I will be posting fun things I see in Shanghai on Instagram, to follow CLICKING HERE.
When I acquire a new piece of clothing, I often times will try it out with different things from my closet to see what works or how many different looks I can create. To me, it is almost more fun than going shopping. Because it is a creative, rewarding and challenging process, which I truly enjoy.
I hope all you beautiful moms out there had just as perfect a day as I did. Hubby got me flowers. Boys made bracelets from school and gave me a necklace (of course, we all know who actually got it!). We went out for a nice mother’s day brunch, and to top it all off I got to play tennis with my tango friends for almost two and a half hours! I have probably never mentioned before, but I love to play many sports. Tennis is one of my favorites。
Spring time in Portland could be tricky but also kind of fun in terms of what to wear because of weather variances from day to day. On the street, you will see people wearing a t-shirt, a jacket or sweater, and even a winter coat. The upside of that is you can choose from your entire closet to create outfits.
People often put black color clothes away when it comes to spring. For me, wearing black in spring is perfectly fine as long as you find ways to light it up or add colors. In my outfit today, I used a colorful scarf to add vibrance to the overall look.
Being a mom, I don’t get to travel much. But I usually manage to get at least one trip every year to get some “JUST ME” time. This year, I decided to chase the cherry blossoms in DC and share them with you in this post!
My photographer and I were there in the last weekend of March. The blossom was already at the tail end of it, but the flowers still looked very delicate and poetic!
I purposely arranged a natural look so I don’t detract from the beauty of the blossoms. Besides, wearing neutrals is always a good idea with all the colors that spring brings us. (more…)
You may already know my philosophy against chasing fashion. I do not drive my purchase decisions based on what is “IN” today. For me, style should expresses your personality as well as inner essence rather than being “IN”!
Spring in Portland presents a challenge to dress correctly with ever changing weather, even on the same day. Yet, I am so HAPPY the long cold winter is finally over! Spring is calling for colors and this electric blue down jacket became my first choice for the day. The light blue coat wasn’t planned in preparation for today’s look; but, the suddenly chilly windy day pushed its way in.
Spring is finally here!! When the sun comes out in Portland, the city comes alive! My photographer and I decided to take a short trip out of the city to McMenamins Edgefield.
I finally felt warm enough to wear a dress without tights or stockings to showcase a knit dress from THREE FLOOR. Apart from classic B & W, I also love the details of this dress: the an open-weave neckline, asymmetrical details, fringe and uneven hem. Since the dress has a lot of volume, apple or pear shaped bodies may want to think twice. (more…)
Although I am geared up for spring looks, Portland’s recent March snow inspired another winter look today. : )
NW 23rd ave, Nobhill area, has always been a favorite street for a stroll. Somehow the street puts me in the mood for a European look to match the atmosphere. Today, I was going for a little French flair as you already knew. : ) (more…)
